My Path Is To Be Of Service
I'm a third-generation therapist, author, and visual artist. My grandmother had a flourishing career in psychology starting in the roaring 20’s. My mother is a psychotherapist and artist as well. My son is an artist and already considering a future in psychology…
In many ways, this work chose me before I chose it. For as long as I can remember, people have opened up to me easily, sharing things they don't share elsewhere, and finding something steady and clarifying in return. I am told there is a gentle tide welling up inside of me, washing over those I'm with.
I bring that quality of presence to my work: calm, empathetic, and closely attuned to what's happening beneath the surface for the people I work with. I don't believe emotions need to be fixed or explained away— I believe they need space, and the right kind of attention.
I'm also the author of the forthcoming book Calm in the Eye of the Storm, on rebuilding a life through grief— drawn from my own experience of loss, and the tools I've built to help others walk through theirs.
